Born and raised in Toronto, Antoniette Catenacci began designing dresses at the early age of 11, and by 13 she enrolled in her first pattern-drafting course. Her enthusiasm continued as she studied Fashion Arts in high school and later, during her formal training at The International Academy of Merchandising and Design, Antoniette had the privilege of working for renowned bridal and evening wear manufacturer David E. Rea. It was there that her passion for bridal and eveningwear was born, and in 1988 shortly after graduating from The Academy, The Antoniette Catenacci Couture House was established.

Continually inspired by historical esthetics, the Catenacci Collections always encompass luxurious textures and a time-honoured elegance, but Antoniette’s eye for exquisite detail brings new life to the traditional. Her customized approach to design aims to create fashion that reflects the individual, making the personalized experience feel at the same time provocative and classic. Catenacci’s visionary couture plays artfully in all aspects of her business model-- from the lavish atmosphere of her retail location, to the personal care and attention she insists on giving her clients, to the hand-sewn Swarovski crystals that embellish most of her gowns.

Having your gown designed by Antoniette Catenacci is a rare and exclusive experience, especially in this age of mass production and global marketing. Using old world couture techniques, Antoniette’s designs are all sewn in house. Her collections adopt timeless designs and classic silhouettes. She travels regularly to Italy, France and Spain to personally source out the highest quality fabrics and luxurious laces. Her gowns move with array of textures including meticulous beading, delicate laces and masterful ruching.

In 2003, renowned for her attention to detail and flawless fit, she launched her bridal collection on the international stage. Since then, many high profile clients have worn Antoniette’s gowns both locally and internationally. She has been designing gowns for Miss Universe Canada since 2003, as well as for other international pageants. She is also internationally recognized for many national costumes that she has designed for Miss Universe Canada and her “Canadian Mounty” costume was voted best national costume at Miss International 2009.

Antoniette Catenacci Haute Couture has rapidly grown into a large multifaceted retail and manufacturing company that continues to specialize in bridal and evening wear as well as offering professional tailoring services and customization for the menswear industry.
